It was a very sad day when Robin Williams died, a great comedian and an extremely nice person by all accounts. He made us laugh. He made us happy.

We live in San Francisco and saw him in a small Chinese restaurant on Clement Street having lunch with his son many years ago. It was not crowded and if anyone recognized him, they didn’t show it. He was thoughtful of children. Halloween in the city is always extremely busy. It’s more popular than Thanksgiving and Christmas. When my daughter went trick or treating with some friends at Robin Williams’ house, they gave out treats that were environmentally friendly instead of candy.

He was known for giving to the community in many ways. The community can give back by bringing attention and research to depression, a disease that is left under-discussed and under-funded.
